Search Visibility
Exclude Topics from Search Results
By default, topics appear in your site’s search results. Enable this option to exclude topics from search, keeping them separate from other content like posts or pages.
Exclude Topic Comments from Comment Results
Comments on topics are included in general comment searches by default. Enable this option to exclude topic comments from comment-related searches or widgets.
Topic Creation and Editing
Edit Topic Page
Select a page where users can create or edit topics. This page must include the [groups_forums_topic] shortcode, which provides a form for topic submission. A link to this page is automatically added to topics for their authors. If you’ve already created a Topic page with the shortcode (as outlined in the setup guide), this message will be hidden. Tip: Create a new page in WordPress, add the [groups_forums_topic] shortcode, and select it here.
Default Topic Status
Choose the default status for new topics submitted via the [groups_forums_topic] form:
- Pending Review: Topics require admin approval before being published (recommended to prevent spam or inappropriate content).
- Publish: Topics are published immediately upon submission. Note: Use Pending Review for moderation to maintain content quality.
Content Moderation
Avoid Shouting in Titles
Enable this option to prevent users from submitting topic titles in all capital letters (e.g., “HELP ME NOW”). This encourages readable titles and reduces aggressive or spammy submissions. When enabled, the plugin may warn users or convert titles to sentence case. Tip: Use this to improve the professionalism of your forums.
Avoid Shouting in Content
Enable this option to discourage excessive capitalization in topic content. This helps maintain clear, readable discussions and prevents spam-like behavior. When enabled, users may receive a warning, or content may be automatically adjusted. Note: Combine with moderation settings for best results.
